Mainstream Engineering Awarded Contract from the Missile Defense Agency for Development of an Improved Missile Window

ROCKLEDGE, FL — March 2, 2018 — Mainstream Engineering Corporation, a 32-year-old Brevard County manufacturer with a history of leading-edge research and development that has resulted in advanced, lean-manufacturing, cost-competitive products, which are all made in the USA, has been awarded a contract from the Missile Defense Agency for Development of a High-Performance Two-Phase Liquid Cooled Window. Sensors operating on missiles require transparent windows, but thermal gradients across the window, aggravated by vibration, acceleration, and shock, can cause window failures.  In addition, thermal emissions from heated windows add to sensor noise. Mainstream has a patent-pending two-phase actively cooled window that resolves these issues.
