ROCKLEDGE, FL — 4/26/2021 — Mainstream Engineering Corporation has been awarded a contract from the Army to demonstrate a unique method of generating energy from sewage.
The Army needs improved capability to enable self-sufficiency and reduce sustainment demands during distributed military operations. Sewage and high-water-content food wastes are both sources of organic matter that can be converted into energy. Mainstream is developing a system to treat 1500 gallons of waste water per day, and be packaged in a Tricon (8 foot x 6.5 foot x 8 foot) shipping container.
