Essential Contribution and Competencies
The Mechanical Engineer will design and release products related to thermal control and energy conversion. The ideal candidate is an experienced product development engineer with practical experience in mechanical design, with comprehensive knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), materials, manufacturing processes and testing. This position has a dual reporting relationship to R&D and Manufacturing.
Specific Duties and Competencies :
- Develop product related to thermal control and energy conversion
- Execute engineering tasks, including; design, computer simulation, prototyping, design and implementation of test procedures, facilities testing, data acquisition and analysis
- Lead transition of research and development projects into production, including; fabrication drawings, schematics, work instructions, quality control
- Guide and manage product development, including; fabrication drawings, schematics, work instructions, quality control
- Write and review proposals, final reports and technical papers
- Provide guidance and support to R&D engineers in the area of manufacturing methods - extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes required
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required
Education and Experience:
- BS in mechanical engineering required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical engineering required, with specific experience in sheet metal design and metal working processes such as casting, forging and machining
- Minimum of 1 year experience in complete product development life cycles through product release
- United States Citizen

This position is located in Rockledge, Florida. Willingness to relocate to the area is required.
